Sale Announced

On 4th March 2004 Gerry Murphy as the sole shareholder sold his entire equity interest in Boss Murphy Bars Ltd. This company operates the bar in Churchtown and also owns all the issued share capital in Boss Murphy's Ltd the company which owns all the "Boss Murphy" property in Churchtown village. The new purchasers of Boss Murphy's own a number of pubs in Cork and Kerry.

"I would like to thank all the people who helped us as we sought to build a business from scratch with limited experience in the hospitality business. I am especially grateful to all the fine staff that helped us up until April 2003 when we leased the operational side of the business to Michael Barry of Woodlake Lodge Ltd. I am also very grateful to all the customers who allowed us serve them since we opened in 2000", Gerry Murphy said at the announcement of the sale of his shareholding in the company.

[Earlier in November 2003 Gerry Murphy purchased the Market House on Kerry Lane from Boss Murphy's Ltd for his own residential use and as office space for Bruhenny Holdings].
